We were a little disappointed that the Wireless Internet did not work in the cabin, but the Internet hook-up (don't forget to bring your own standard network cable) worked great. The hookup is a little difficult to locate but is in the cabinet near the TV. Wireless Internet access is available in many of the common areas, although it seemed much slower than the network connection. Passengers not wanting to bring their own laptops can rent one on the ship or use the Internet Cafe.

Traditional cruise-ship style dining arrangements are offered; if you want to be seated at the same time each night, at the same table, simply arrange it with the maitre ‘d. During the day, kids and teen spaces keep the under-18s busy, while the outdoor sports court and pool deck give families and friends the chance to get together for a game of hoops or a dip in the pool. The ones that are least subject to noise are those on decks 9, 10, 14 and 15, whereas most of Norwegian Pearl’s cabins to avoid are on decks 5, 8 and 11. These are located right below or above noisy public spaces such as the pool, the theater or restaurants.

Then, there’s Splash Academy, an all-kids area on deck 12 that offers games, arts and crafts and themed days for elementary-age kids to learn and play at the same time. Compared to the first two options, the balcony rooms on Norwegian Pearl are much more luxurious — from the furnishings to the amenities. The stylish rooms feature ample seating space and patio furniture on your large balcony. The balcony is accessed via a floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door. Once on the balcony, you’ll see that you have even greater views, thanks to the balcony railing’s transparency.
Spa facilities include an enormous thermal suite with hydrotherapy pool, heated lounges, steam rooms, and saunas for which there is a charge. The restaurants are more conducive to relaxation, especially Le Bistro and Mambo’s Tapas Restaurant. La Cucina’s appetizers and pasta are very delicious, as too is Le Bistro’s filet mignon.
